The Great Wall and Ming tomb

An arduous and exhausting day in 36 degrees  – a trip to The Great Wall requires quite a good level of fitness. Definitely quite a challenge but very worth it. We walked from Tower 14 to Tower 23 on the stretch whose name escapes me (I’ll come back and edit if I can).

Bejing

We’re off on our travels and marvelling at the scale of the buildings and beauty of the ornament in Bejing. Our first day was a visit to The Lama Temple, The Confuscious Temple and Drum and Bell Towers (which were a time keeping system bases on the ancient Chinese Lunar system). The second day we […]

Shibori dyeing

I seem to be having a love affair with all things Japanese at the moment – I’ll have to make future plans to visit. There’s a lovely shop in Melbourne called Kimono house that stocks Japanese textiles and other beautiful Japanese things… and then there’s my favourite tea shop Lupicia too. So some friends and […]

Autumn colour

I have a friend visiting who enjoys very much the same arty crafty pursuits as I do… with the added bonus she’s a great gardener! After a busy morning dyeing, winding and knitting we went to Heronswood to look around the garden. Some wonderful Autumn colour!

I’ve missed the introductions, and tools but today is a feature about your oldest stash… well interestingly […]

London visit

It’s not my favourite time of year to visit the UK but finding myself alone in London for a few days I decided to spend at least one day searching out Tea Shops and getting myself some desperately needed needles! Once at Angel tube station I followed the signs to Camden Passage. I feel very […]

Kindness update

Well as I entered the Kindness Advent calendar somewhat late in the process I thought I’d write a little update as to how I’ve been doing. Monday – Be positive all day … I think I managed that 🙂 Tuesday – Take time to appreciate someone who does something you take for granted. I had […]

While I’m away…

My wonderful DH has been working away on my new home Dye studio for Green Tea Yarns.  We’ve revamped a dusty dingy outhouse that looks as though it was a hasty addition to the back of the garage when it was originally erected, and he’s Sheetrocked and painted it. He’s also installed bench tops and […]
